My Whole30 Results
I did it! I finished my first round of Whole 30 and I couldn't be more proud and excited to share my Whole30 results with you! What a test that was not only of my ability to start and finish something I set out to do but also a mental, physical, and emotional challenge.
The past 30 days really opened up my eyes to so many incredible things that was really holding me back from my ultimate goal - which is to finally get the body, not just a size or a certain weight - but the entire package. I wanted to FEEL good - not just look good on the outside. Ultimately when you feel good on the inside you radiate that on the outside as well which is what I really wanted to achieve from this 30 day process. I didn't start this Whole30 journey to lose weight but I would be a liar if I didn't say that I had really hoped that would be a by-product.
Of course it would be - because when you focus on BOTH your nutrition and exercise you do start to see the inches melt away. So many of us, me included focus on the exercise and use it to punish ourselves after we have a bad meal. We eat because we workout. Isn't that the truth? We give ourselves PERMISSION to eat whatever we want because well work it off in the gym. The truth of the matter is - that you can't out exercise a bad diet.
We Can't Out Exercise A Bad Diet
There is NO such thing as bad exercise - but there is such a thing as a bad diet. You really have to put a lot of emphasis on diet if you REALLY want to see results. What I've learned in the past 30 days really made me experience just how powerful food can be. It holds so many of us back from getting where we want to be. We all want more energy, want to have better digestion and not have those days where we just barely have the gumption to get off the couch and play with our kids.
We really have a strong connection with food. It was all I could think about prior to starting Whole30. I would eat because I was bored, tired, stressed, and sad. Before Whole30 I was always looking forward to my next meal - it was constantly on my mind. Food had this amazing control over me and I'm sure it does most of you as well.
Our Connection With Food!
There is a reason that we can't stay away from the cake table at a wedding.
There is a reason that we can't keep our hands out of the cookie jar mid afternoon.
Sugar has us pigeon-holed. Food companies have us programmed to CRAVE things. It's in their marketing and it definitely in the ingredients labels. Sugar is the culprit and I can't believe how much food companies put that crap into our food without us even realizing it. Whole30 really opened my eyes to just how much crap we put into our bodies subconsciously like robots. I do start to wonder if they aren't trying to kill us slowly - I definitely think there is something going on with the food industry that allows us to see the highest rates of disease (obesity, diabetes, cancer) in the history of man-kind. Pair that with little need/desire to exercise and we have created a disaster.
I'm so glad that I decided to participate in the Whole30 challenge and I strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about it to just GO FOR IT!

Whole30 Results - Now What?!?!
Think it's too good to be true, well I did too but those are the God's honest truths about how I felt after Whole30 was complete. The first 2 weeks of the program were interesting as I experienced some pretty substantial sluggishness, cravings, and lack of mental clarity.
The only thing that kept me going was the fact that I had a partner and a group full of other coaches with me who were motivating me and going through the same things. Seriously - the power of accountability and surrounding yourself with other like-minded individuals who want the same things as you is GOLD! I know that I would have caved about day 10-14 somewhere in there.
So you might be asking what my plan is now that I have conquered one round of Whole30. Great question and my answer is that I am going to keep going! Today is actually Day 37 and I am feeling incredible. Weight loss is still slow but my clothes are seriously getting more lose every time I put them back on.
I mean it's almost Valentines' Day and there is sugar galore around me and I really could care less about eating it. I'm not going back to that place. I'm NOT!
My energy levels are through the roof on everyday that I drink at least 2 liters of water. The days that I don't - I don't have that much energy which is another reason I need to tackle my serious issue with drinking enough water through out the day.
My T25 Workouts and Whole30
This week I started my 8th week of a 10 week program called Focus: T25. My workouts are going great! I have more stamina to get through the entire T25 workout instead of huffing and puffing - dog@ss tired about mid-way through. It's been incredible to see the changes that I have made overtime and I honestly, don't think that I can go back to feeling the way I felt before. Part of it is fear and part is just motivation to get to my goal weight by Summer!
This month we started adding in more weights at least 2 days a week which I love. There is just something about lifting weights that excites me and makes me feel so empowered and strong!
